Taking off for 2020

Oct 8, 2013
The OrientGate project was presented at a workshop on October 8, 2013, during the European Commission's 11th European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels. Organised between October 7 and 10, the Open Days 2013 event featured workshops, debates, seminars and exhibitions under the slogan "Europe's regions and cities taking off for 2020".

Giulia Galluccio, from project lead partner CMCC, gave the presentation "The OrientGate project: Building a partnership between climate change researchers and policy makers in South Eastern Europe" during a workshop organised by the EC's Directorate-General for Climate Action. The workshop, "Climate change adaptation: New EU strategy, new EU funding period. Are regions ready to respond?" showed regional and local authorities how to enable climate change adaptation in their region, and how EU funding can be used, through exchanges of experience with regions that have already successfully implemented adaptation actions.
